  • On-the-spot camera direction ensures every important moment is captured for those watching remotely. The live stream remains available for 24 hours (via unlisted youtube) to accommodate time zones and schedules.     CDs and DVDs are becoming less common due to their limited video quality and capacity. However, if preferred, DVDs can be created for $20 each and CDs for $15 each.

PIANO TUNING & REPAIR

  • A standard piano tuning involves adjusting the tension of each string to ensure the piano is in perfect pitch. This service includes a thorough tuning of all 88 keys and minor adjustments to optimize sound quality. It typically takes 2-3 hours and is suitable for pianos that have been tuned recently. Unless there is a specific reason not to, all pianos will be tuned to standard temperament and to A-440.

  • If it’s been a long time since your piano was last tuned or if it’s recently been moved, it may require a “double” tuning. The first step is a standard tuning, followed by, or along the way a fine tuning to address any resistance due to "piano memory." This process helps the piano hold its tune longer, with a follow-up visit recommended in about 6 months. In addition, I will go over the instrument thoroughly and give you an overview of it’s overall mechanical and artistic condition! The “follow up” tuning will be a standard tuning!

  • This is not a restoration, but a “refresh” of your instrument. For this price i will go through the entire action of the piano (possibly removing it for a day or two depending on your needs) and go through every notes action and tighten all the screws, lubricate any sticky mechanisms and take note of any broken or missing parts. I will also go over all the hammers with my voicing tools to attack the “harsh” tone that many older pianos get as a result of compacted hammers (often visible by the deep grooves from the strings.). Also included is removing each key, cleaning them and a good wipe down and vacuum of the innards of the piano.

  • Replacement and tuning of missing treble strings (the silver ones!).

  • Bass strings are unique to each piano and range of notes, so any replacement has to be custom ordered and is included in the price. Once the string need is determined a replacement usually can be installed within 1-2 weeks

  • Each piano has unique needs. During a tuning visit, I’ll diagnose any issues and discuss the required repairs, including time and cost estimates. Any needed parts will be included in the quote. You’ll get my best work!
